Govt restricts platinum article import, umbrellas

India has restricted imports of certain platinum articles to combat illicit gold smuggling, following a surge in such imports. This move aims to close a loophole exploited by importers. In a separate development, the government has also placed restrictions on umbrella imports, setting a minimum price to bolster domestic production.
