Govt increases culture budget by Rs 100 crore, prioritises heritage and arts

The government has increased the Ministry of Culture's budget for 2025-26 to Rs 3,360.96 crore, with substantial allocations to the Archaeological Survey of India and cultural institutions. However, funding for centenary events and international cultural collaborations has been reduced. Major anniversaries will still receive support, and significant funds are earmarked for libraries, museums, and cultural preservation initiatives.
