Govt allows export of 1 million tons sugar in ongoing 2024-25 season

The Indian government has approved the export of 1 million tonnes of sugar for the 2024-25 season, which will run until September. Food Minister Pralhad Joshi announced the decision on X (formerly Twitter), stating that this move aims to ensure price stability, support five crore farmer families, and benefit five lakh workers in the sugar sector.
