France’s Former President Nicolas Sarkozy leaves home for prison

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy left his residence to go to La Santé Prison in Paris on Tuesday to serve a five-year sentence. He was sentenced for criminal conspiracy last month for his role in a scheme to finance his 2007 presidential campaign with funds from Libya in exchange for diplomatic favors. Sarkozy has stressed that he is innocent and has appealed his conviction.
