FinMin, Labour Min working out modalities of healthcare scheme for gig workers: Govil
The Finance Ministry and Labour Department are formulating a plan to extend PM Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) healthcare benefits to around 1 crore gig workers. The government aims to provide identity cards and register them on the e-Shram portal. This scheme may be fully funded by the Centre or co-funded with states.
