FDA gives nod to first generics of Xarelto to treat stroke and heart disorders

The USFDA has approved the first generic version of Xarelto, a drug for reducing the risk of major cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery and peripheral artery disease. The 2.5mg tablet will offer more treatment options, but comes with a boxed warning for increased risk of thrombotic events and spinal hematomas.
