Expelled Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil taken into custody in sexual assault case

Pathanamthitta police took Congress-expelled MLA Rahul Mamkootathil into custody late Saturday night. This is in connection with a sexual assault case registered in Palakkad. Mamkootathil was staying at a hotel in Palakkad. He was brought to Pathanamthitta on Sunday morning. This marks the third sexual assault case against the MLA. His formal arrest is expected soon.
