EU will 'do the same' if US maintains tariff hikes: French finance minister

French Finance Minister Eric Lombard stated that the European Union is prepared to impose the same 25 percent tariffs in response to US President Donald Trump's tariff announcements. Lombard highlighted the need to protect EU interests, even though trade wars are detrimental. Negotiations with the US are scheduled to begin on April 2.
