EU is failing to dissuade African migrants despite spending billions, auditors say

The European Union is struggling to effectively discourage unauthorized migration from Africa and address human rights abuses, according to a report by the EU's financial watchdog. The Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, set up in 2015, has grown to about 5 billion euros but faces issues in targeting aid and monitoring its use.
