Esa-Pekka Salonen will be Orchestre de Paris' next maestro
Born in Helsinki in 1958, the Finnish conductor will succeed his compatriot Klaus Mäkelä for a five-year term in September 2027. He will serve as principal conductor as well as hold the Creativity and Innovation Chair at the Philharmonie de Paris.
