Encourage direct India, Pakistan communication: US State Department Spokesperson Tommy Pigott

Facing a pushback from India on US President Donald Trump’s remark about mediation on Kashmir, the US State Department has sought to nuance Washington’s position by saying it “encourages direct communication” between India and Pakistan and commends Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for choosing the path of peace.
