Eight dead, one still missing after Castle Peak avalanche strikes backcountry skiers
Officials said Tuesday’s slide hit a group of 15 guides and clients returning from a three-day trip. Six survivors were rescued, but emergency crews were not immediately able to recover the bodies of the deceased.
