Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 hits Afghanistan

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck the Badakhshan region of Afghanistan early Tuesday morning, at a depth of 180 kilometers. Frequent earthquakes have made the region highly vulnerable, especially as the country is already facing challenges from decades of conflict and underdevelopment. Afghanistan lies on numerous fault lines, making it prone to natural disasters.
