Drug dealer Jay Conway points loaded gun at Greater Manchester police officer after being tasered

A drug dealer who pointed a loaded gun at police officers and a member of the public in Salford has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Jay Conway, 33, of Leicester Walk, Salford, had evaded capture from two undercover Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers who saw him hand drugs to customers in Albert Park. He was spotted with the firearm as he was chased, and aimed the 9mm slide action pistol in the direction of Pc Dan Clayton as he rolled onto the floor when felled by a Taser discharge. Pc Clayton took cover behind a parked vehicle as Conway fled, and again brandished his gun as he told a member of the public: “I suggest you f*** off.” Conway pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, assault of an emergency worker, and possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs.
