New Delhi became the world's most polluted city, partly due to people using firecrackers during Diwali despite a ban. The citys air pollution worsens each winter with emissions, farm fires, and trapped dust. Although pollution levels were slightly better this year, stubble burning raised pollution levels significantly, with further increases expected in early November.
