Over the five trading sessions ending April 10, the Sensex benchmark surged 5.77%, or 4,231 points, to close at 77,550, posting gains in four of the five sessions. During this sharp rise, about 81 stocks from the BSE 500 index advanced in each of the five consecutive sessions between April 6 and 10.
