Cometh the Maha Kumbh, cometh the Prayagrajis: Locals provide meals, shelter to pilgrims

Residents of Prayagraj have opened their homes and businesses to assist stranded pilgrims after a surge in arrivals for the Maha Kumbh. Locals, including students and hotel owners, are providing food, shelter, and transportation. Allahabad University has also stepped in, offering accommodation and meals. This generosity follows a deadly stampede that left 30 dead and 60 injured.
