Cities in India reduce PM2.5 pollution by 27 pc in six years: Report

From 2019 to 2024, Indian cities saw a 27% average reduction in PM2.5 pollution levels, with National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) cities achieving a 24% decline. Varanasi led with a 76% reduction. Despite these improvements, cities like Delhi, Gurugram, and Faridabad remain heavily polluted, highlighting ongoing challenges in air quality management.
