CBIC to meet trade bodies, industry on smooth rollout of GST reforms

The CBIC is convening a meeting with industry associations to discuss the implementation of recent GST reforms and rate rationalisation, effective September 22nd. CBIC chief Sanjay Kumar Agarwal has urged proactive outreach to assist businesses in ensuring a smooth transition. The new GST structure will feature two slabs-5% and 18%-alongside a 40% tax rate on luxury and sin goods.
