CBDT detects non-compliance by state govt entities in filing returns

CBDT has found that many state government entities and local bodies are not timely filing their income tax returns. Some are also defaulting on advance tax payments and TDS deductions. The board has ordered zonal heads to ensure compliance, working with banks and state Accountant Generals to monitor TDS payments and contracts.
