Canada airport grounds flights after report of small plane 'hijacked'

A Cessna 172 was reportedly hijacked from Vancouver Island, prompting a temporary halt to operations at Vancouver International Airport on Tuesday. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police received the report and responded swiftly. The aircraft landed safely, and the sole occupant was arrested without incident. The incident led to the diversion of nine inbound flights.
