Calling someone 'miyan-tiyan', 'Pakistani' not offence of hurting religious sentiments, SC holds
The Supreme Court ruled that terms like 'miyan-tiyan' and 'Pakistani' do not constitute hurting religious sentiments despite being in poor taste, and discharged the accused in a criminal case in Jharkhand. The man was also cleared of charges of intentional insult and assault on a public servant.
