Budgeting in style: When Sitharaman ditched the briefcase & carried a tablet in a red 'bahi-khata'

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her eighth consecutive Budget using a digital tablet enclosed in a traditional 'bahi-khata' style pouch. She broke away from the colonial tradition of carrying a Budget briefcase in 2019, continuing with a digital tablet during the pandemic. This marks the 14th consecutive Budget under the Narendra Modi government.
