Axar Patel named captain of Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2025

Delhi Capitals have named Axar Patel as their captain for IPL 2025. Patel, who has been with DC since 2019, was the franchise's top retention for Rs 16.5 crore. He has limited leadership experience but was India's vice-captain in January. Patel led Gujarat in domestic tournaments and captained DC in one IPL match last year.
