Asia Cup: Opposition slams govt over India-Pak match; Shiv Sena announces ‘Sindoor Samman Aandolan’

The upcoming India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025 on September 14 in Abu Dhabi has triggered a heated political row. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched the ‘Sindoor Samman Aandolan’, questioning how cricket could continue despite Pakistan’s terror attack. Aaditya Thackeray also slammed the BCCI, calling it “anti-national.” Congress leader Shama Mohamed accused the BJP of double standards, citing sacrifices of soldiers and Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal clarified that India will only play Pakistan in ICC/ACC tournaments as per government guidelines, not bilateral series. BJP leader navnath ban said that the match will not be played on Indian land and it is not an Indian tournament.
