Amazon's fresh layoffs: US tech firm fires more employees, says 'we don't make these decisions lightly'

Amazon layoffs: US tech company Amazon has fired a “small number” of employees in its communications and sustainability units. The company laid off more than 27,000 employees in 2022 and 2023 and has continued making smaller cuts. The company will provide financial support and assistance to the affected employees. Amazon went on a hiring spree during the Covid-19 pandemic.
