All the celebrities supporting Kanye West after controversial comeback

Kanye West’s comeback has been controversial – but still supported by some major stars (Picture: Getty/Backgrid) Kanye West’s return to the spotlight, if he ever truly left, has been an intensely controversial one due to his antisemitic tirade. He was announced as Wireless Festival headliner, prompting outcry from Sir Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan, as well as the main sponsor, Pepsi, which withdrew support. Over the past few years, Ye ‘lost touch with reality’, as he claims, and has publicly endorsed Nazi ideology, released a song called Heil Hitler, and sold swastika T-shirts. Earlier this year, he published an apology letter, explaining that he’d been in the grips of a manic episode and no longer endorses antisemitism. He’s since performed a series of comeback shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium to huge controversy – but plenty of stars supported him. From Lauryn Hill joining him onstage to SZA quietly liking posts, here are all the celebrities championing Ye’s return. Lauryn Hill Lauryn Hill joined Ye for a duet at his recent LA show (Picture: ShotbyNYP/Backgrid) The legendary Miss Lauryn Hill not only went to Ye’s concert at SoFi, but she took to the stage with him to perform All Falls Down, which samples one of her songs. She wasn’t done there, as the Fugees frontwoman then sang Doo Wop (That Thing), moving into a rendition of Ye’s 2021 song Believe What I Say. Still on stage, Lauryn then brought out her sons Zion Marley and YG Marley – Bob Marley’s grandsons – who sang Heartbeat, Crisis, and Praise Jah in the Moonlight. Before he released his latest album, Bully, Ye compared the record to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which is considered one of the best solo debuts of all time. For those wondering, Lauryn was on time for the show, unlike her reputation would suggest. Dave Chappelle Dave Chappelle was also seen backstage Comedian Dave Chappelle was also at the gig, seen in backstage videos with Lauryn, hugging and smiling. The actor is no stranger to controversy, having been cancelled for jokes about the LGBTQ+ community and for performing at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Cause yall think he’s speaking for black people when he’s really a voice for Jewish agendas. ‘I name comedians that are way funnier than you that don’t have as big a name. How you gone call yourself the funniest man on earth right in front of Chris Rock Who’s name is actually bigger than yours.’ However, Dave apparently ‘hopped on a jet’ to check in on Ye after the post, stating, ‘Brotherhood is real. Love is real’, in a video with him. Travis Scott Pictured here in 2016, Ye and Travis Scott are long-time pals (Picture: Lilly Lawrence/Getty Images) Also taking to the stage with Ye was Travis Scott, as the pair are long-time collaborators, including on Vultures 1 and 2 at the height of Ye’s problems. Travis has a feature on Bully, marking their eighth collab on a record. He came out to perform Father at Friday’s show, wearing a mask and a shirt with ‘Unsane’ sprawled across his chest. Father was the album’s lead single, with Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori, appearing in the video, which blended religious and sci-fi imagery. Last year, he defended his relationship with the Power rapper, telling Complex: ‘That’s my kid’s uncle.’ ‘That guy took me in when I was young, when I was like 19. He taught me a lot about music,’ Travis explained. ‘And not even just ‘taught’ me, but he allowed me to experience the creation of music.’ Erykah Badu The queen of neo soul, Erykah Badu, was also at one of Ye’s LA shows and was filmed dancing with her daughter Puma. She shared clips from the show, praising Lauryn’s set and claiming she was ‘doing what Donda would do’. https://www.instagram.com/p/DWsx7LCjicj/ Erykah described the show as ‘phenomenal’, showing off the giant lit-up globe staging. In 2022, she posted on Instagram in support of the Gold Digger hitmaker, calling him her ‘friend’. She wrote: ‘No one is more beautiful and kind and creative. Was there at his mama home going. We all want the same thing .. to be loved and to work with pride. Thanks for fighting for us and for your self most of all I get it.’ Chloe Bailey Chloe Bailey said she felt ‘inspired’ after seeing the rapper live (Picture: Instagram) Singer Chloe Bailey proudly filmed herself singing along to Ye’s songs, posting it on Snapchat for her followers to see. She captioned the clip: ‘Imao yall can see how much i love Ye 🤣🤣 i was feeling this deep in my SOUL.’ Afterwards, she said she was feeling ‘so inspired’, posting clips to her Story as well as a ‘happy Easter’ message with Chris Brown’s music attached. Fans pointed out that Chloe is currently signed to Parkwood Entertainment, which is Beyoncé’s label in partnership with Columbia Records. The Carters have distanced themselves from Ye after he went on a targeted rant about their children, calling their rarely seen youngest a slur. ‘Wait, Has Anyone Ever Seen Jay And Beyonce’s Younger Kids?,’ he wrote on X, referring to twins Sir and Rumi, eight, before claiming they were conceived through IVF. Beyoncé and Jay-Z never addressed the comments publicly, but Ye later deleted the tweets. Deon Cole https://www.instagram.com/p/DWnVyCrkdnT/?hl=en Black-ish actor Deon Cole showed off a video of himself in the crowd with the caption, ‘70,000 Ye’. Fellow comedian Deray Davis was with him, with Deon appearing to stand on a raised platform, suggesting they were in the VIP area. Fans said they were disappointed in the 54-year-old actor, as he joked about Nicki Minaj supporting Trump just weeks before at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards. ‘I want you to bless our sister Nicki Minaj,’ he said in a mock prayer. ‘She’s been going through a lot lately, but hasn’t been herself, Lord. I believe whatever is in her ass is affecting her brain. Take it out of her a*s.’ One fan branded him a ‘hypocrite’ while innitmalibu added: ‘What i’ve learned from Kanye (Ye) is men can walk away from almost anything. ‘He said vile things to the jews… still sold out a stadium. Nicki Minaj supported Trump… crucified every single day. Society forgives men faster than women.’ Ye has been a vocal supporter of the MAGA movement, meeting Trump several times since the late 2010s. CeeLo Green CeeLo Green sings on Bully (Picture: ShotbyNYP/Backgrid) CeeLo Green features on the title track of Ye’s newest album, which includes the lyric: ‘I wanna beat somebody up like a bully.’ The Forget You vocalist, 50, then joined Ye for a live duet at his concert, sharing a handshake before. It also saw him bring out 12-year-old daughter North West, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. CeeLo has proudly promoted the collaboration, taking to Instagram to show off his ‘Bully’ merchandise and videos from the studio when he recorded his vocals. SZA SZA returned the favour by showing her support for Ye’s new stage design (Picture: Amy Sussman/Getty Images) A Ye fan account shared on X over the weekend that SZA had ‘liked’ an Instagram post showcasing his stage design. The attached screenshot did, indeed, prove her name was among the post’s likes, of which it clocked up over 70,000. SZA – real name Solána Imani Rowe – caught heat for her double-tapping, as one fan asked, ‘Are you kidding me?’ However, it was pointed out by other Ye supporters that the 36-year-old R&B star has shown ‘love’ for him on numerous occasions. It isn’t unrequited either, as Ye wrote on X last February: ‘SZA IS TOP 5 ARTIST RIGHT NOW’. Many of SZA’s fans expressed their anger at the time, given that his post came when Ye could not have been more divisive as a public figure. They called for him to cease his endorsement and ‘stay away’ from her. Got a story?
