All bail pleas from same FIR to go before same High Court bench: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has mandated that all bail applications arising from a single FIR be assigned to the same judge or bench in high courts for consistency. This decision follows an apex court order from July 2023. The aim is to ensure uniformity in judicial opinions. The ruling came in response to a case from the Jharkhand High Court.
