Akharas call off Mauni Amavasya 'Amrit Snan' after near-stampede at Maha Kumbh: Mahant Ravindra Puri
A stampede-like situation erupted at Sangam during Maha Kumbh, leading to injuries among several people. Due to this, the seers have decided to call off their holy dip, or 'Amrit Snan', on Mauni Amavasya. The Uttar Pradesh government estimates a crowd of nearly 10 crore people at the fair on Wednesday.
