Accredited investor status: What it means and why it matters - Who qualifies as an accredited investor?

To be recognised as an accredited investor in India, you must meet SEBI’s criteria, which include having an annual income of at least Rs 2 crore or a net worth of Rs 7.5 crore, with at least half of it in financial assets. Alternatively, you can qualify with an annual income of Rs 1 crore and a net worth of Rs 5 crore, provided at least Rs 2.5 crore is in financial assets. Your primary residence is not counted in this calculation. Who qualifies as an accredited investor?
