Absolute poverty virtually eliminated, says Niti Aayog's Virmani
Absolute poverty in India, as per World Bank's metric, has been nearly eradicated, dropping to just 1%. The percentage of the population classified as vulnerable has also significantly decreased and is expected to be completely eliminated in seven years, as per Niti Aayog's Arvind Virmani.
