21 cops injured as mob seeking FIR against Hindu seer hurls stones; 1,200 booked

Twenty-one police officers were injured in stone-pelting by a mob in Amravati, Maharashtra. The mob demanded action against Hindu seer Yati Narsinghanand Maharaj for his remarks against Prophet Mohammad. The police registered a case against him and subsequently filed a case against 1,200 persons involved in the violence. Prohibitory orders were issued in the area.
