12 Zilla Parishads, 125 Panchayat Samitis go to polls in Maharashtra

Polling for 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis across 12 districts of Maharashtra began on Saturday morning under tight security. Over 7,400 candidates are contesting for 731 Zilla Parishad and 1,462 Panchayat Samiti seats, with more than 2 crore eligible voters expected to take part. Voting started at 7.30 am and will continue till 5.30 pm, while counting will take place on February 9.
