Hegseth secures departure of US Army chief of staff
General Randy George was asked to take immediate retirement, according to CBS News, in order to appoint someone who can better implement the Trump administration's vision. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell later posted a statement on X that said George 'will be retiring from his position... effective immediately.'
