Cathy Newman signs off from Channel 4 News after 15 years

Cathy Newman presented her final Channel 4 News bulletin from the broadcaster's London studio on Thursday, 2 April, after 20 years working for the broadcaster. The journalist began presenting 15 years ago. She is known for her investigative journalism and high-profile scoops, including her investigation into sex offender Simon Harris which led to his 17-year prison sentence. She is joining Sky News to front its 7pm flagship daily politics slot. In her final message to viewers, Ms Newman said: "It has been an incredible privilege bringing you the news and also working with some of the best and nicest people in television. "I'll see you further on down the road. Until then, that's Channel 4 News, a very good evening to you."
