Passengers filmed themselves climbing out of overturned carriages after a train derailed near Lewes on Thursday (13 August). Two people were seriously injured and 18 others hurt when a train derailed between Haywards Heath and Lewes in Sussex. An investigation is underway to determine the “root cause” of the incident. Josh Parker, 22, was travelling home from work when the train came off the tracks. A video taken by Parker shows several people, including himself, standing on top of the overturned train. National Rail has warned that travel disruption is expected to continue until further notice as a result of the rail derailment.
