Karnataka 'hate speech' bill unnecessary, existing framework adequate: Home Ministry
The Union Home Ministry has informed Karnataka that its proposed bill to curb hate speech might be unnecessary. Existing laws are deemed sufficient to address such issues. The Ministry conveyed this stance to the Karnataka government. The state had sent the bill for Presidential assent after the Governor refused to clear it.
