Israel strikes Lebanon with no warning after saying Iran ceasefire doesn’t apply there
A livestream captured the moment Israel hit Lebanon with what the Israeli military said was the heaviest wave of airstrikes since the war began. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it launched the massive strike in its renewed war with Hezbollah after stating that the two-week ceasefire did not apply there. The strikes on Wednesday (8 April) killed at least 89 people, including a dozen medics, and injured at least 700 people across the country, Lebanon's health ministry spokesman said. Footage shows explosions across several commercial and residential areas in central Beirut, with thick plumes of smoke rising to the sky. Last week, Israel’s defence minister outlined the country’s plans to destroy border towns in Lebanon.
