In landmark consumer ruling, home buyers win full ₹40 lakh refund and compensation after 16 years without a home
In a significant ruling, a consumer commission has directed a housing society to refund the entire amount paid by two flat buyers who booked apartments around 16 years ago but never received possession. In addition to ordering a full refund of nearly ₹40 lakh, the commission also ordered the developers to pay compensation of ₹2.5 lakh to each for the delay and mental stress caused to the consumers.
